  • Second Award of The Maurice Allais Prize in Economic Science

The Maurice Allais Foundation, under the aegis of the ParisTech Foundation, has decided to establish a Maurice Allais Prize in Economic Science. The Prize will be awarded every second year on the anniversary of Maurice Allais’s birthday, May 31, for the first time on May 31, 2013.

Beyond the determination to honor and perpetuate the memory of one of the greatest names in French economic thought, the Foundation aims, by awarding this prize, to favor extensions of Maurice Allais’s work in Economics. In 2013, a British-French team of researchers (R. Farmer, C. Nourry and A. Venditti) shared the award. In 2015, the prize was awarded to Pr. Xavier Gabaix, from New York University.

The Maurice Allais Prizes have been endowed in 2013 and 2015 with 20 000 Euros.

This profile has to combine both objective capacities to bear the risk and a subjective risk attitude. Art. 25 of Mifid-II reflects that shared opinion.
